Product Overview
The Thrustmaster T818 is a direct drive sim racing wheelbase providing 10Nm of continuous torque without an included wheel, sold as the base unit for users who prefer to choose their own wheel separately. The T818 uses a direct motor-to-shaft connection providing high-resolution force feedback with low latency compared to belt-driven systems. It is Thrustmaster's entry into the direct drive segment.
The T818 operates on PC via USB and supports PlayStation 5 in compatible simulation titles. Hall Effect sensors detect steering position. The Quick Release system is compatible with the full range of Thrustmaster interchangeable wheels. The base unit bolts to a sim racing cockpit or clamps to a desk via the standard Thrustmaster base mount.
At 10Nm the T818 is positioned in the mid-tier of the direct drive market, above belt-driven systems and below the higher-torque Simucube, Fanatec Podium, and Moza R21 units. The wheelbase requires a compatible power supply included with the unit. No wheel is included with the T818 base; wheels are purchased separately from the Thrustmaster range or third-party compatible offerings.
